My 5 Year Plan

5 years from now I definitely see myself far away from Bali, and most probably not in Asia. After I finish high school I’ll have to go back to Singapore to do my national service, which will take me around one and a half years to complete. I’ve heard rumors though that I’m too tall for military service, I doubt it though as in the documentary (Every Singaporean Son) there were some tall Asians up to 6’5” doing their thing, explaining how their heights are affecting their military service experience.

After completing my national service for Singapore, which would look great on my resume. I’ll go check out Europe and North America, I’d love to watch some football games in the stadiums and then travel to Canada and live in a cabin in the mountains. Go snow board and such, basically have all around good fun. I’ll find a local job and that’ll get me around financially. Might do a road trip with some people and just cause havoc.

Eventually I’ll find myself looking for colleges and universities; I’ll be studying psychology, sociology, and history of war, criminal justice. I hope to work in the BAU, if that fails though I’m just going to do whatever.

Nyan

This is the story of no point at all; you might as well watch paint dry because you won’t learn much from this story.

Nyan was his name and his destiny was written in the stars with rainbow glitter, which was stolen from the arts & crafts section of some random kindergarten in some random city in some random country. He wasn’t able to read though so his destiny was unknown to him, nobody ever told him what it said because they strongly believed it wouldn’t do Nyan any good. All they ever told him was he needed to catch the mysterious red dot, which appeared on the wall from time to time, and the knowledge the red dot would give him will set him free.

Years passed and Nyan became better than anyone had ever imagined him of becoming. He was perfect, his training was now over, and so he set out to catch the mysterious red dot. He walked almost forever until he finally encountered the mysterious being on the side of a mountain. He quickly jumped over the forest blocking his way, he then pounced onto the surface where it lay and he caught it. Just like that. Nyan didn’t believe it and went ecstatic with excitement. Then it struck him… What now?

He suddenly felt something vibrating inside him, urging to come out. A huge beam shot out of his mouth and he was just a spectator watching his body being used like a puppet. The beam quickly shot back into him though now the beam seemed to have mixed with the rainbow glitter, which was used to write his destiny in the stars. His mouth shut and he regained control of his body. Something was wrong, he could feel the glitter inside him moving, shining and whispering into him his destiny.

Nyan finally understood what his destiny was. He returned to his native village and baked two pop-tarts and attached them to the sides of his body. He felt it, he was ready… and BAM! He took off into the dark night sky and destroyed everything evil with a smile to his face and repetitive music playing as he did so.

Top 5 Albums

5.                                     Odd Future Tape Vol. 2

This album goes by the genre of hip-hop and others. One of the most newest releases from the hip-hop collective ‘OFWGKTA’ also known as ‘Odd Future’ for short. It’s a collection of songs from each of the members within the crew, some collaborated and some worked alone on their tracks. ‘Sam is Dead’, ‘Analog 2’ and ‘Oldie’ are my favorites. This album has 4 different album covers, hence the picture above.

4.                                     Around The Fur

‘Around the Fur’ by Deftones, this album goes by the genre of alternative rock. I stumbled onto the Deftones’ music one day in Singapore while I was searching youtube for some trashy Dubstep music. There was a Bar-9 remix of a Deftones song and as soon as I heard it I searched the Internet to hear some of their original work. Soon enough I downloaded 3 albums and this album came on top as my favorite, interesting cover and interesting music. Deftones’ music is not something you’d hear on the radio or MTv, don’t expect them to have millions of views on youtube either.

3.                                    Champ

‘Champ’ by Tokyo Police Club, this album goes by the genre of Indie Rock. A friend of mine introduced me to them when he sent me a link to their song ‘Bambi’, which is still one of my favorite songs. I instantly downloaded their album and listened to it almost nonstop for a whole week.

2.                                     Young the Giant

‘Young the Giant’ is the name of the album and the band that made it; this album goes by the genre of Alternative. I found out about these guys while I was watching the 2011 MTv VMA’s where they performed live. They had an interesting vibe to their music and quite the passion as they performed live so I checked them out and downloaded their album and listened to it for quite some time. Sometimes I play their music just to calm myself as if their music is some kind of remedy or when I go to bed, it’s impossible to have a nightmare with their music playing and only good dreams can come out of listening to them whilst going to bed.

5.                                     Bastard

‘Bastard’ by Tyler, the Creator, this album goes by the genre hip-hop/alternative. I found out about this guy from the 2011 MTv VMA’s and his first hit single ‘Yonkers’. He was 18 when he dropped his first album ‘Bastard’ in 2009. This album is about a angry teenager just being angry and dark, letting out his thoughts, which are quite relatable. Listening to this album with headphones while being tired makes this album play out as a movie in your imagination. Tyler, the Creator is somewhat a role model to me, I idolize his views of the world and its problems. Number one album and number one artist of all time to me.

Hipster music, waka waka.

After Work

Working at school as a teacher’s assistant really wasn’t much of a task, just how I expected it to be, but damn; I at least expected to work a bit everyday. Hardest part was when I cleaned out the Sports Equipment Storing Room with Michael, set up soccer drills and when I helped the soccer coach in the 3V futsal place. The experience was generic and easily forgettable, I can’t believe I didn’t know there was a 3V futsal place with an English coach. I would’ve worked with him, surely I would’ve learned more there than at AIS. I don’t understand why nobody recommended that place for me. I mean, Michael does PE there with the year 7 & 8 students.

There isn’t much of a big highlight to my 2-week back in school, I went to school, did work experience, went home and did what a typical lazy teenager would do. I ate and played video games all day, not a big deal.

I don’t see how I’m supposed to write 400 words in this entry as I’m already struggling to do 200. I don’t like stretching sentences, they’re just big sentences with a bit of content in comparison. Goddamn… Whatever I’ll end this with 200 words.

#YOLO, waka waka.

Being mega cheerful.

Work Experience

So I have work experience next week in school, no clue what i'll do. I just hope I don't work with the janitors or in the canteen, i'd rather sit at the park and stare at the sun until it comes down while bugs crawl all over me. Everyone else in my class got proper jobs to go to, I envy them, I really should've taken this whole assignment more serious... I honestly thought the whole idea of work experience was going to break down because work places wouldn't take this school seriously, since they're not IB league.

Anyways hopefully I'll help Pak Michael with PE and teach kids how to play soccer properly, since I do know more about soccer than Pak Michael.

So yeah, waka waka.

Holidays Recap

Quick recap of my holidays, school gave us students a 4-week break. That’s half of what I’d get back at my old school, but I don’t care I still get holidays. The first 2 weeks was me just sleeping, eating and playing video games, perhaps the most chill thing I’ve done, it was exactly what I needed. Sleep late, wake up late, play video games, eat, play more, eat and play more, all whilst I was listening to my favorite music by OFWGKTA.

I kept up with the world while I was hiding in my dark man cave of a room thanks to the Internet. Frank Ocean released a new album, while Tyler, the Creator posted a new music video for his song ‘Sam is Dead’ featuring Domo Genesis. Manchester United bought Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund for £17 million, and gaining an 18-year-old starlet from Crewe Alexandria for £3.5 million. All while the whole summer market in the world of football was spending millions for new footballers to join their teams. I wonder what other players are going to join the Barclays Premier League during the transfer window, which will end after august. Mass Effect 3 released the ‘Extended Cut DLC’ for fans of the series to download for free; the DLC expands the ending of their final game, which was widely criticized as not good enough for a game that ends an epic sci-fi trilogy of a game.

Though I did end up going outside, just not a lot. I didn’t feel the need to call up a friend and ask them if they want to hang out somewhere, I just couldn’t be bothered. The whole process of making plans is irritating. I hung out with some people but not too often, yet I did stumble into a bunch of people I haven’t seen in for a long time when I went places.

I want to leave Bali, waka waka.
